LEVELS & STYLES
6-8 Intermediate (2 Hr. Class)
Develop the fundamentals of dance through control, poise, precision, fluency and grace using the technique and style of ballet. With classical and contemporary ballet barré, center work and progressions this class improves fundamentals including body alignment, vocabulary and correct positions of the legs, feet and arms.
A subcategory of Jazz, that focuses on perfecting specialty leaps and turns.
Hip Hop is a street style of dance that is fun, upbeat and high energy! Stretching, rhythms, musicality, footwork and a variety of styles of Hip Hop vocabulary are all incorporated.
Combines the techniques of Ballet and Jazz, utilizing movements to express strong emotions, such as love, joy and anger.
Teaches an awareness of beat, timing and rhythm. Tap is a fun and exciting form of dance where the dancer is able to make different sounds using their feet, and as such the dancers are considered to be musicians.
Acro is the performance of extraordinary feats. Some stunts with partners will be introduced. This class focuses on timing these moves, as well as, improving flexibility, balance and strength.
A subcategory of Ballet, that requires solid, consistent, and current ballet training coupled with strength in the legs and the core of the dancer's body. Subject to pre-requisites.
Jazz is filled with energy, variety and vitality. Classes begin with a warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment and coordination followed by progressions across the floor and end with combinations. Jazz focuses on percussive disciplines, isolations, expression and musicality.
These classes are for our youngest dancers and are an introduction to dance that explore movement, levels, shapes, tempos and rhythms and help to develop coordination. Dancers will begin to build basic vocabulary in Ballet, Jazz and Tap.
